Andre Johnson isn't happy....

Why is this such a surprise?

Look.... let's just skip the fluff. Andre is in the twilight of his career and wants to play for a contender. Haven't we heard this story before? But let's ask ourselves an interesting question.

Why did he wait until now to say this?

Another question..... How does he even know what this team is going to be like if he is SKIPPING THE DAMN MINICAMP?

Look.... Andre Johnson is my favorite athlete since Dream graced us with his brilliance. He has been perhaps the best receiver in his era. He is definitely the best player this organization has seen. He is constantly donating and giving back to the community everytime we open our eyes. But......

What does he expect?

He doesn't know if he wants to be here anymore? How was he or anyone else to know that Schaub was going to flame out the way he did? Also, did he think that we were just going to shit out a QB? There was no QB savioir in this draft. Not even close. There was no miracle worker in free agency. The Texans are doing what they can to turn this ship around without having to tear it all down. We need to make one thing clear to Andre.

HE WAS A PART OF 2-14. This is an undeniable fact. He was a part of this massive failure. He is not excluded because of who he is. Doesn't work that way. Just like Schaub was. Just like Kubiak was. Just like Keenum was. Just like Watt was. He had his hand in 2-14. He contributed. They all contributed. He doesn't get a pass. Sorry.

This is what happens when you sign mega-deals like Dre did. It's not all puppies and rainbows all the time. Shit happens. Shit happened. He is still obligated under his contract to perform and try to help his team win. The Texans don't have to do a GOTDAMN thing for Andre Johnson except for provide a check. Maybe he should have thought about the length of the contract. I'm sorry... but I have a hard time feeling sorry for him. He knew what he was getting himself into.

This doesn't look like it is going to end well, and that is too bad. I think he needs to think about what he is saying. Being frustrated with losing for so long is an understandable human emotion.... but he needs to understand that the Texans as a team don't have to send him to a contender. If the Browns, Raiders, Jags, or Titans offer the Texans the best deal for Johnson, then that is the deal they should jump on. They don;t have to do him any favors.

All in all, I think Andre Johnson needs to take responsibility in his role in the current state of the franchise and as a leader of what is becoming a young team. Show up to mandatory camp, work with the new QBs and the new offensive scheme, and then decide if this will be the right situation for him. If not, Andre Johnson will be no better than Terrell Owens... a mega-talent with hall of fame numbers who doesn't give a fuck about nothing but himself
