Game 3 Tonight and Random Thoughts

Good evening friends.....

For any of you who have yet to jump off the Williams Tower, there is a Game 3 tonight in the Rockets-Blazers series. I don't have to tell you the level of desperation that this game has brought upon our poor souls, but I will tell you anyway.

Cliche time: THIS IS A MUST WIN GAME.

What does that mean? That means that the Houston Rockets MUST WIN THIS GAME. I don't have time to search for when the last time that any professional sports team came back from an 0-3 deficit, but I can tell you that it rarely happens. I think maybe someone in hockey did it, but I don't know. Maybe my white friend and contributor Zane can fill everyone in on that.

Regardless, Red Nation (dropping the Clutch City name for now, 'cause YEAH NO) needs to go out there and play some winning basketball. "How do they do that?"... you may ask. Here's your answer:
  • Stop Lamarcus Aldridge: This dude is destroying us. I keep seeing the Olajuwon comparisons for a guy who isn't near Dream. We can stop the comparisons by stopping him. Trot out the double-team. You have to let someone else beat you tonight. If they hit all their threes and jumpers, then their isn't much you can do about that. Just know that a three-point shot is a much lower percentage attempt than anything GOD ALDRIDGE is throwing up there.
  • Continue to run the offense through Dwight. He is absolutely abusing Portland's front court. Trust that they are going to let him have his way with Sideshow Bob Lopez for the early part of the game to continue to focus their efforts on James Harden. After the Blazers are left with no choice, they will bring the double-team on Dwight (See how that works?). When that happens.....
  • Your wings and shooters have to make their shots. This is where Mr Harden comes into play. If Beard is shooting well and getting to the basket, the Blazers are screwed. He has to forget about the first two games. The opportunity will be there for him to take over this game, and he needs to snatch it by the pubes. This goes for Chandler Parsons as well. After being a huge factor in Game 1, he was a disaster in Game 2. This cannot happen anymore. He needs to prove that he CAN be that third person in the Big 3 of ours.... instead of going after Carmelo Anthony.
  • Last, and maybe most important.... PLAY DEFENSE. STOP THEM FROM SCORING AN ASSLOAD OF POINTS. STOP THEM NOW.
The Rockets are capable of taking the next two in Portland. They have prided themselves into not going into long stretches of bad basketball. They need to do this tonight.

Or it is over.

Random thoughts:

Going to our first Astros game of the season tomorrow. This is perhaps my favorite thing in the world to do. The future is bright.

I am purposely avoiding Texans draft talk for the moment. Y'all know where I stand, and that ain't changing. We'll get into that when the draft is a couple of days away.

Speaking of football, why is it such a big deal when the schedule comes out? OH MY GOD! WE NOW KNOW FOR A FACT THAT OUR TEAM PLAYS GAMES ON SUNDAYS, A MONDAY OR TWO, AND A THURSDAY. Seriously, it ain't that serious. I think finding WHO you're playing is more important than the schedule itself.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is less than a month away and I cannot contain my excitement.

That's all for now. As usual, your input (good or constructive) is ALWAYS welcome.

Until next time, cabrones.

-Juan
