Ray Rice Knocks Out Roger Goodell in an Elevator

Today, I saw something that I probably should not have seen.

I saw a woman get knocked out with a straight left cross by the one person that should spend his energy protecting her. It was a brutal scene. To add insult to injury, it was noticeable that Ray Rice, the now former running back of the Baltimore Ravens, kick his then fiancee's leg as in to tell her "I just knocked you the fuck out! And what?!" It wasn't a violent kick as in the previous blow that he landed on her. Nowhere near the impact and force. It was just a nudge. It was all he needed to cap off his conquest.

Today should have brought a much clearer view to the dealings of this matter between the NFL and Ray Rice. We now know exactly what happened that weekend of February 16 of this year in that Atlantic City casino. There was more fuel added to the dumpster fire that is the Ray Rice - Roger Goodell situation. Many questions were asked when the commissioner of the NFL handed down his initial punishment of a two-game suspension. Some of us were pretty angry. Most of us were confused. All of us became law experts. None of us have a fucking clue.

Forget about the Josh Gordon one-year suspension for marijuana for a minute, because honestly, that has nothing to do with this. Zane stated as much in this post. He got the ball rolling on this. He knew this was going to become bigger than it already was. He saw this coming it. He started it.

I'm going to finish it.

Ray Rice is a waste of human flesh, healthy lungs and a beating heart. To say that Ray Rice is trash is enough for trash to seek counseling. He and the organization that he worked for thought it would be a good idea to have Janay Palmer apologize for her part in her getting knocked the ever-living fuck out. He has used her to try to secure his battered image. An image he procured for himself for pretending to be Manny Pacquiao. He forced her hand in marriage. Marry me, or else everyone is going to hate you. Marry me, or else you will lose all of your financial security. Marry me, or else my lawyer will grind you to the ground about that night at the casino. Marry me, or else.

Ray Rice was released by the Ravens today. The same team that employs a PR-man that really likes Ray Rice. There is a good chance that this bag-of-dicks eater has played his last game in the NFL. There has been a little bit of retribution for his violent moment of aggression. He made a decision that was going to cost him his dream and it is just due. This is worse than Michael Vick fighting dogs. There is no escape from the lasting image that will be him chin-checking a woman who probably couldn't punch her way out of a wet paper bag. Ray Rice is at least 200 pounds. He could have caused serious injury or worse. This person deserves to serve some time in prison. Fortunately for him, he's rich. And famous. He plays a very important position for a team that was 2 seasons removed from a Super Bowl championship. Fortunately for him, she is just a woman. Just a woman that has been pushed aside by the police and NFL. They have a reputation to protect. They can't let some woman that got her face punched in ruin the golden image for America's favorite sport. Don't they understand that they can ruin someone's fantasy football's league? To hell with her! Football always wins. Ray Rice was winning. He was given a standing ovation in a home preseason game in Baltimore. As their conquering hero, who stood over the unconscious petite frame of Janay Palmer, he stood there and accepted their praise. He accepted his victory.

Ray Rice was terminated today. He was told by his team that he would no longer be employed by them. After all of their press conferences, victim shaming, and lengthy love letters, they decided that he was no longer theirs. Soon after, he would be suspended indefinitely by Roger Goodell. The same Goodell that decided that two games was good enough for a guy who melted his woman's face with a cross. What a guy. I am glad that Mr. Goodell and the Ravens finally came to their senses and took the trash out. Justice was served today. Ray Rice is gone. It's all over.

NOPE.

It has just begun.

Word has gotten out that the NFL and the Ravens were not only aware if this video, but they have possession of it. And they have seen it. And... it was used in the decision on the Ray Rice punishment.

What? WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK?

So even with this carnage, the almighty smiter of young and old ballplayers decided that two games were enough to punish Rice. The hammer was brought down with the force of a toothpick. Goodell retroactively gave Janay Palmer the big ol' FUCK YOU. He basically told the world that women do not matter when it comes to his league. What a sad day for the NFL.

Now. Here is where it gets good. Or bad, if you are the NFL. Someone is lying here. Goodell's personal parrot Peter King previously reported that the NFL had seen the second video. This report was confirmed and reiterated by Chris Mortensen and other reporters. After the ensuing shitstorm, both have backed off of their statements citing the source was not completely sure that Goodell had seen the footage. So which one is it? Did he see it? Did he not? Did the officials see it? Did the Ravens? It's plain to see that someone is lying here. I have a good idea of who it might be. Who has the most to lose here? I think that you are only going to need one guess. If that is the case, then people need to be held accountable. Starting with Roger Goodell. The culture needs to change, and it starts with him.

I need to make something clear. I don't really care about what an athlete makes and what he does when he is off of the playing field. But this is bigger than that. There should be no other rule change or 18 game season discussions until this matter is worked out. If the NFL knew about the video before the suspension, then this matter will get really ugly. There is a part of me that wants to see Ray Rice sue the league after they are exposed as dirty liars. They are suspending him twice for the same offense using the same evidence. He would win this lawsuit. I want him to win this lawsuit. I want sweeping changes to this corrupt system that is the NFL mob. Then I want him to lose both of his legs and have them given to Janay Palmer so she could bronze them and shove them up his legless ass. That is what I want.

I'm not done yet.

What about us fans? We are the enablers. We pay the salaries of these players that they use to lord over the weak. Where was the huge outcry when we saw the first video? What do we think happened there? Are we really that dumb for football? We only give a REAL shit now because we saw it on a video. That image is burned in our heads now. We now know the complete truth. So now we all are standing on our soapboxes and grandstanding and telling the world that we have had enough and we are not going to take it anymore. Let's face it. We are guilty as well. Like my wife says, we are still going to tune in.

Let's stop shaming the victim here. Let's stop saying that she only married him for the money. We don't know that. We are not in her head. How do we know that she isn't currently fearing for her life. Logic tells us that Janay is going to get hit again, and worse. I hope for her well being that someone is in her ear and trying to convince her that there is a better way. Ray Rice is a piece of shit. There is video footage of that. Now he has more time to do more evil onto her. Now he thinks he has a legit reason to take his anger out on her. The NFL and the cops have already excused his behavior once. What can they do to him now?

So what happens now?

Outside of the well-being of Mrs. Rice, I am curious to see if TMZ will produce evidence that will seal Roger Goodell's fate. I think that will start the snowball. Everything will fall into place after that. The NFL is in a bad spot right now, and it is exactly what needs to happen. There needs to be pressure put on them. It won't be easy, as the NFL is a gang, and Roger Goodell is the capo. If this is allowed to go away, like the PBS produced joint venture with ESPN that Goodell forced the Disney network to back out of, then we will know the deal. We will know that the commissioner is in complete control, and the fans will continue to come and fill the stadiums, buy the jerseys, eat the snacks, and drink the beer. Because we gotta have our football.

Maybe Goodell steps down. Maybe all of the guilt will overcome him. Maybe one day, he and Ray Rice will cross paths in a casino; down on their luck. Maybe there will be a conversation, or an argument while they are headed to the lobby. Then we may see:

BREAKING: RAY RICE KNOCKS ROGER GOODELL OUT IN AN ELEVATOR!

..........again.

Until next time, cabrones
